LOS ANGELES, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A single-engine plane crashed in the western U.S. state of Colorado Sunday noon, killing two people on board, local police said on Twitter.
Police of Broomfield said the plane crashed in the city's Anthem Ranch, a neighborhood south of the Erie Municipal Airport, about 25 km outside of the state's capital city Denver.
Images from local CBS4 news channel showed the craft impacted a main road in the city and came to rest at the base of a spruce tree and the engine was separated from the fuselage.
No bystanders were injured and no homes were damaged.
The National Transportation Safety Board is headed to the scene to investigate the crash.
Nearly two weeks ago, police responded to another plane crash in Broomfield that killed one.
